The things a ranking will not usually tell you

Three of the most storied names in rebranding now sit inside a single division of a single holding company. If your shortlist has Interbrand, Wolff Olins and Siegel+Gale on it, you are running a competitive pitch between siblings.

Almost no agency ranking will tell you that. It is the kind of thing this site exists to say.

Purpose

What we do

Ranked lists by industry, with the honest caveats

We research rebranding agencies and publish ranked lists by client industry. Every profile states what a firm genuinely covers, who owns it, roughly what an engagement costs, and who should not hire it.

That last part does the work. Firms with a six-figure floor are wrong for a small nonprofit. Packaging specialists cannot fix a product interface. A studio that made a challenger bank famous is the wrong call for a hospital. Saying so takes nothing from the firms and saves readers a wasted month.

Structure

Organised by industry, not prestige

A rebranding agency is not one category

This is why the site is organised by industry rather than by prestige.

A health system rebrand after a merger, an FDA-regulated drug name, a grocery packaging redesign and a B2B software repositioning share almost nothing. Different constraints, different approval processes, different definitions of success. The firms that lead one of those lists frequently do not appear on the others, and that is the system working rather than an inconsistency.

The most common expensive mistake in this category is hiring a famous studio whose fame came from a different industry.

Method

How rankings work

Four things decide a placement

Evidence from the work

Not the logo wall. What a firm actually did, whether the identity is still in service, and whether it survived contact with a real business afterwards.

Fit for the page

Rankings are per industry and they move. A firm can lead one page and be absent from the next.

Ownership

Who owns a firm predicts more about your engagement than its portfolio does. Holding-company agencies bring scale and procurement cycles measured in months. Independents move faster and cannot staff two hundred people. We state it on every profile.

Budget reality

An agency nobody on the page can afford is decoration. Where a firm publishes minimums we quote them, and where a category has a revenue floor below which an engagement will not pay back, we say what it is.

Sources

How we research

Not by reading other rankings

We work from award records, client-side searches that start with a rebrand and trace back to who did it, company and ownership filings, and verified review platforms filtered by volume rather than rating.

Ownership in this category changes fast, so listings are re-checked quarterly. Acquisition, holding-company restructuring, repositioning and closure all quietly invalidate a profile.

Standards

What we will not publish

No invented statistics, no paid placement

No invented statistics. No awards without a verifiable link. No manufactured praise.

And no paid placement. Position on these lists is not for sale and never has been. Firms cannot buy a ranking, buy onto a page, or pay to have a competitor removed.

Corrections

Tell us what we got wrong

Corrections

We get things wrong, and ownership records in this industry go stale faster than most.

If something here is inaccurate, tell us and we will fix it. Corrections from the firm itself are welcome, we ask for nothing in return, and making one will not change a position on a list. Use the contact form.
